Megaphone is an independent media platform that produces explainer multimedia content covering local news. We publish analytical and critical content adapted to digital media, be it multimedia or text.
Megaphone was founded in 2017 by a multidisciplinary team of young journalists, researchers, and designers. Our aim was to demystify Lebanese politics, and bring it closer to audiences that feel alienated by the approach of mainstream media. Born on Facebook, Megaphone likes to be medium-specific and meet its audience where it dwells. We now have active channels on Instagram, Twitter, Youtube as well as this website which is home to all our text-based pieces.
Megaphone questions and counters the establishment’s entrenched narratives, and features stories and voices of marginalized groups that are often excluded or stigmatized by traditional media. We act as a watchdog to both the political establishment and the media landscape, exposing misleading and inaccurate stories and statements.
Megaphone is politically independent and relies solely on funding that does not impose editorial restrictions, thus ensuring that its editorial line remains uncompromised.

ميغافون هي منصّة إعلاميّة مستقلّة تقوم بإنتاج محتوى توضيحيّ متعدّد الوسائط لتغطية الأخبار المحليّة بأشكال ملائمة للإعلام الرقميّ، بالإضافة إلى محتوى تحليليّ ونقديّ يستكشف إمكانات الكتابة الرقميّة.
تأسّست ميغافون عام 2017 من قبل فريق متعدّد الاختصاصات من الصحافيين الشباب والباحثين والمصمّمين الفنّيين. كان الهدف من ورائها إزالة الغموض المحيط بالسياسة اللبنانية، وجعل السياسة بمتناول جمهور بات يشعر بالنفور من مقاربات الإعلام السائد. بدءاً من الفايسبوك، تحب ميغافون أن تصمّم محتواها لملاءمة المنصّات المتعدّدة للوصول إلى الجمهور حيث هو. اليوم لدينا قنوات فعّالة على انستغرام، تويتر، يوتيوب، بالإضافة الى هذا الموقع الذي يحتوي جميع مقالاتنا.
تشكّك ميغافون بالسرديات التي يعمل النظام السائد على ترسيخها، وتتصدّى لتلك السرديّات. كما نعرض قصص الفئات المهمّشة وأصواتها التي غالباً ما تتعرّض للإقصاء والوصم من قبل الإعلام التقليدي. نقوم أيضاً بدورٍ رقابيّ على النظام السياسي السائد والمشهد الإعلامي على حدّ سواء، فنعمل على فضح التقارير والتصاريح المغلوطة والمضلّلة.
ميغافون مستقلّة سياسيّاً، ولا تعتمد إلا على وسائل تمويل لا تفرض قيوداً تحريريّة، كي يبقى خطّنا التحريري غير مساوم عليه.
